Garland, Texas
Theron originates from Tennessee and Christine from England. However, they
met at a singles square dance in Texas in 1980 and were married in 1985;
graduated from Ed Campbell's basic round dance lessons in 1982, and
continued to dance with Ed until he retired in 1992. Also danced with
Charlie and Bettye Procter until they moved to Arizona; were members of the
Dallas Let's Dancers Round Dance Exhibition Group from 1985 to 1988, and
performed at numerous national, state, area and local square and round dance
conventions and festivals; taught first dance (Beautiful Noise) on
Memorial Day in 1989, and then began cueing and teaching regularly in August
that same year. Presently cue for Ramblin' Rounds Round Dance Club (Tuesdays
phases 3-4+; Wednesdays phases 4-6; First Saturday all request dance), and
three square dance clubs: Lone Star Solos, Rebel Rousers, and Steeple
Steppers. Have been on staff for week-long functions at Fun Valley,
Colorado; Red River, New Mexico; and Kirkwood, Missouri, and also for
numerous weekend functions at local, state and national levels. Served as
Directors for Programmed Rounds for the National Convention held in San
Antonio in 1996.
Members of Roundalab (currently
serve on Phase 5 ROQ Committee), Universal Round Dance Council (URDC),
Texas Round Dance Teachers Association (TRDTA), Dixie Round Dance Council
(DRDC), North Texas Callers Association (NTCA), and have been actively
involved in the Harvest Holiday Festival since 1983.
Have choreographed several dances,
including Hold on Partner, Tangueray, Hey You There In The Mirror,
Better
Days, Let's Go Spend Your Money Honey, Mi Vida Loca (My Crazy Life),
Adelida
and Rebel Rouser.
Theron is retired, and Christine
works at a major downtown Dallas law firm.
